| dc.description.abstract | The editors of History Studies are pleased to present a body of work composed of unique and exciting articles that present a wide scope of historical research. The selected contributions are diverse in nature and deep in scope. and portray the exciting new research that is being undertaken by post-graduate scholars from a wide range of universities. This ninth volume of History Studies continues the tradition of providing a literary channel for outstanding post-graduate historical research. It also has a new visual dimension with the inclusion of seven photographs showing Ireland's heritage. These images work with the articles to press upon the uninformed the importance of history.
