| dc.description.abstract | The objective of my thesis is to explore the various elements that make structure architecture. Through investigation into thinness, material, span, space and soundscape, I wish to create an architecture which can appeal to the senses and have value form many years to come. I propose to interrogate these qualities with the demanding programme of aircraft cargo and maintenance on the site of Shannon Airport, which is situated on the shannon estuary and to find a unique solution to the current generic nature of the place. | en_US |
